I used to be able to do this, but something has changed in the process that causes the conversion to fail.
I was using Kindle for PC version 1.1. I ran Skindle gui.exe, which I used to create my .mobi file from the original .azw file. I opened the.azw, saved under the new name, and and hit the "convert" button. I received the following error:
Attempting to locate kindle.info
Found kindle.info location
buildKindleMap failed
It's supposed to remove the DRM and create a .mobi, which I then unpack and create my .html. However, I can't get past the first conversion step.
I'll also note that I can't use Kindle for PC 1.1 anymore, as it was updated. When I attempt to use that version again, it will not execute for me to try the process with the old program to see if that works. I'm using jaws 13 as well.
